The Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL) is designed to coordinate teaching and learning resources on the University of Connecticut campus. ITL provides teaching grants, courses on teaching, and it presents awards to the University’s best Faculty and Graduate Student teachers. Some of ITL’s courses cover topics like syllabus preparation, teaching portfolios, and outcomes assessment. ITL also has developed Faculty Learning Communities for new faculty members and for faculty who are interested in learning about using technology effectively. ITL has numerous resources including videos, books, and an online newsletter that can help faculty members improve their teaching. Using ITL resources can help faculty members reach a broad base of students, incorporate technology in their classes, and improve their overall teaching.

To access ITL’s services or learn more about ITL you can access their website at www.sp.uconn.edu/~wwwitl or call them at (860)486-2686.
